Loosely based on my Alnico 4 “Tomcats” Jag set, optimized for VI. Snappy bass, stronger mids than a straight vintage set, sweet warm treble. Versatile spaghetti western to melodic low end lead set.

-‘64 stagger Alnico 4 in slightly shorter than vintage lengths.

-42awg plain enamel coil wire

-7k neck, 8k middle, 7k7 bridge, RWRP

The combination of slightly shorter/weaker magnets and a little more coil means the output is only a little stronger than an Alnico 5 straight vintage set, but the voicing has that throaty sound, like the difference between a Tele and a Broadcaster bridge, and some extra fatness in the middle and bridge. Super fun set.
